Divorce
The decision to end your marriage and seek a divorce marks a crossroad in your life. Hiring a divorce lawyer early on to protect your rights during and after your divorce is one of the first things you should do. You want a family law attorney on your side who will explain every step of the divorce process and every course of action available you. As your family law attorney, Mr. Humphrey will help you make the right decisions with confidence and start the next chapter of your life with much-needed peace of mind.
Child Custody & Visitation
In making a child custody or visitation order, California courts are guided by the best interests of the child standard. The court may award custody to one or both parents, with the goal being to provide the child with the most stable environment possible. Whether you are pursuing sole custody or joint custody with another parent, a child custody agreement can be drafted a variety of ways. Mr. Humphrey will help you find the right arrangement for your family. If you and the other parent cannot come to an agreement, California mandates mediation before a hearing on child custody or visitation. An experienced family law attorney can guide you through this process.
Spousal & Child Support
Financial matters are always a major concern in any family law proceeding. Since both spouses face serious financial consequences in family law cases, you want to hire a divorce attorney that will do everything they can to ensure your rights are protected. California law is designed to ensure that both spouses and their children have the financial support necessary to accommodate their basic needs once a divorce has been finalized. Generally, the higher wage earner usually has to pay support. Mr. Humphrey represents clients on both sides of support cases. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your children, or you will likely be the spouse ordered to pay support, you want a family law attorney that will do everything on your behalf to achieve the best available outcome.
